ok christians annoy me at times but i still love them, heck i am one.
so i'm applying to transfer to a bible school next year, and in my application i came across some really irrelevant questions, which were not only unethical but also in some cases i believe illegal. They asked for a medical history including surgeries (which i can kinda stretch to be viable as its also a residence) but then they asked what my ethnic origin is, now i don't care BUT WHY DO THEY NEED TO KNOW? i see no reason why such information would be needed, i mean aren't we kinda beyond this as a society? You can't ask that when hiring employees at a job so why can they ask that in the admissions process for Bible college. Its clear that they havn't had their admissions forms cleared by a ethics and legal committee at least any good one in several years.
In this is one of my major beefs with christian institutions, they aren't up with the time, its not relevant, and it just doesn't fit with main stream society, bah..... i'll erase this ending and put a well thought out one here later (unless i forget or am too lazy)

I disagree with you on this one. They are up on the times. They want to know this becuase then they can see who the information of summit is reaching and who and where it still needs to be worked on. I have friends that have been asked at jobs what ethnicity they are. Maybe this isnt the case in Ontario but here its a reoccurring thing every job and every institution. Please don't assume that its about admissions when its clearly not.

Generally information such as medical information and ethnicity is filled out on a separate form after the actual application, that way the actual acceptance cannot be based around prejudices.
and what I mean here isn't just in the application form, in the secular school system you have to get interview questioned cleared by an ethics board, here we don't have that, and while it normally isn't a problem, we should have some sort clearance board for that stuff just in case... after all the last thing we want to do as Christians is accidentally hurt someone.
